DICK ABELL DIES AT 73 - RICHARD "DICK" ABELL, 73, senior partner in the Abell-Dever Motor Company, died at 1:15 a.m. last Thursday at Mary Immaculate Hospital. He had been ill the past three years, and was stricken with pneumonia several days before his death. A son of Richard and Alice Mattingly Abell, he was a Marion County native and spent practically all of his life here. He had engaged in the automobile business for many years. He was a member of St. Augustine Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Mattingly Abell, and two sons, William A. and Chester Abell, both of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body was at Manakee, Myers & Hickey Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday by Msgr. Joseph D. Gettelfinger, at St. Augustine Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Garland Dever, Carl Spalding, Leonard Mattingly, James O'Sullivan, Clem Osborn, Sam Boldrick, C. A. Newquist, Arthur Hill, Robert L. Spalding, C. E. Brents and V. M. Pickarill.
