From Marjorie Slaughter's obituary collection:
Jewell County REPUBLICAN - 20 SEPT 1929
MAMIE (STUCK) FLINN
1888– 16 Sept 1929
(Randall Cemetery)
The bite which a dog inflicted upon Mrs. David Flinn, three weeks ago, proved fatal last night. Mrs. Flinn died in a convulsion that was the climax of the attack. She had not experienced any notably ill effects from the injury until yesterday when one paroxysm followed another. Her husband died earlier in the summer, and the Flinn children are so scattered that an account of her life has not yet been compiled for publication. The family formerly lived at Scottsville. Mrs. Flinn took the Pasteur treatment after the head of the dog had been examined and the animal was pronounced rabid. Funeral services will be at one o’clock Wednesday afternoon, at the McDonald Funeral Home, with the Rev. R.R. Kaieser in charge. Rites and burial will be at two o’clock, at Randall.—Beloit Call, Sept. 17.
