COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 11/25/2003
Thomas B. "Tommy" Abell, 67, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2003, at Jewish Hospital. He was born in Marion County, Ky, and served in the U. S. Army. Tommy was a retired controller for General Electric Appliance Park and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Josephine Abell. Survivors include his wife, Mary Catherine "Cathy" Mattingly Abell; his children, Sherri (Dennis) Taylor of Houston, Tx, Lisa (David) Seigle of Louisville and Dennis (Toni) Abell of Houston; grandchildren, Nicole and Brandon Taylor, Ryan Seigle and Randy and Sara Abell; and sisters, Barbara Brockman and Linda Mattingly, both of Lebanon, Ky, Emma Rita Wheatley of Springfield, Ky and Janice Mattingly of Louisville. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his church, 7500 Tangelo Dr., with burial in St. Charles Cemetery in Marion County. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd. Memorial gifts may take the form of Masses for the deceased.
