MRS. B. T. CHRANE, SR., 76, died in Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 1953. She would have been 77 on June 8.

Critically ill three months, she underwent surgery April 23. Mrs. Chrane had been a resident of the Abilene area since 1901.

She was born Lou Dora Cannon June 8, 1876, in Calhoun County, Mississippi, where she was married to Miles Curtis Philley in 1890. To this union were born one daughter and four sons. The Philley family moved to Collin County, Texas, in 1900, where Mr. Philley died later the same year. She and the children moved to Abilene in 1901 and purchased a home in the 700 block of Pecan St. She lived at 768 Pecan St. at the time of her death.

From 1902 until 1907 she lived on a farm in the Hamby community. She was married to Balty T. Chrane of Dudley in 1907 and they lived on a farm in Dudley until 1925, when they moved to Abilene. Mr. Chrane died in 1948. Mrs. Chrane had been active in church work all her life. She had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1908, and had membership in the South Side Church of Christ in Abilene.

Two sons, Aubra and Pat Philley, died in 1952. Survivors include four sons, George Philley, U.S. Philley, B. T. Chrane Jr., all of Abilene; and L. D. (Blondy) Chrane of Big Spring; and one daughter, Dr. Curtis Chrane, Abilene; and other relatives.

Services are to be conducted at the South Side Church of Christ in Abilene at 3 p.m. Friday, June 5, 1953. Carl Kitzemiller, minister, will officiate.Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene, beside the grave of her second husband, Mr. Chrane, under the direction of Elliott's Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Jim Coffman of Dudley, G.P. Philley of Sweetwater, Dan Clark, J.E. Dunn, C.C. Higgs, all of Abilene, and Jack F. Johnson of Big Spring.
