Joyce S. Bliss, 81, of York, died January 30, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of Thomas K. Bliss. Joyce and Tom celebrated their 62nd anniversary on February 8, 2009.
She was born June 11, 1928, in Adams County, a daughter of the late Oliver Milton and Gertrude Kressler.
Joyce was a Gold Star Mother, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 799, life member of the York Archers, and a member of Hayshire United Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Beverly J. Kelley of Dover; a son, Timothy C. and his wife, Jo Marie Bliss of York; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne Stefanowicz of York. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Bliss, who died in Vietnam in 1969.t the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
