In November 1938, she married Leonard Holt, who preceded her in death in 1988.
A 1932 graduate of Indiana State Teacher's College (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania), Mrs. Holt taught elementary school in Armstrong Country for more than four decades, including 13 years in Cowanshannock Township and 31 years at Dayton Elementary School. Upon her retirement in 1984, she was recognized by the Pennsylvania State Education Association as a "great-grand-teacher" for having taught three generations of students.
Mrs. Holt was an active member of many community and professional organizations, including the Indiana County Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Kittanning Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers' Society, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, the Rural Valley Women's Civic Club, the Dayton American Legion Auxiliary, Dayton Historical Society Marshall House, Dayton Ladies' Day Out Club, and Glade Run United Presbyterian Church in Dayton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, John and Thomas Peron; and her sister, Elizabeth Kinter.
Surviving relatives include a son, Leonard Loren Holt of Oakmont; a daughter, Karen Miller and husband Gary of State College; a grandson, Gregory Miller and wife Vera; and a great-grandson, Samuel Miller of Monroeville.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, White Twp., Indiana Co.
