BACLIFF - John C. Blackmon, 69, vice president of the Bacliff Water Department, died Thursday morning at his residence following an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Bacliff, with the Rev. James O'Connor, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park East Cemetery, League City, under direction of the Jack H. Rowe Funeral Home of League City.

Mr. Blackmon, resident of Bacliff 23 years, was born March 13, 1899, in Duty, La. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church, and past president of the Bay Area Welfare Association.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John E. Blackmon of Dickinson; a brother, Jim Blackmon of Hodge, La.; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Brooks of Hodge, La., and Mrs. Ola Pampier [sic Dampier] of Wisner, La.; and three grandchildren.
