The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield, for Pauline Rose Mercer of Springfield, who died Jan. 27 of age-related causes. She was 96. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at Buell, and burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Eugene.

She was born Sept. 6, 1913, in Criswell, Texas, to Jesse and Emma Wolf Mercer.

She was a high school graduate and a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward's department store.

Survivors include five sisters, Helen Arnold of Wichita Falls, Texas, Cleo Mercer of Houston, Gladys Alexander of Springfield, Laura Hasbrouck of Alamogordo, N.M., and Freda Lynch of Pasadena, Texas; and a brother, William Mercer of Kingsburg, Calif.
