Mother Mary Agnes Sturgis, RSCJ, was born in Covington, KY, 7 MAY 1865, the daughter of Brigadier General Samuel Davis Sturgis and Jerusha Wilcox. Mother Sturgis taught at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, St Charles, MO. Mother Sturgis died 19 NOV 1943. Mother Sturgis' remains were laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Convent Cemetery, St Charles, but were later transferred to Calvary Cemetery, St Louis.
