Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for William "Uncle Bill" Frisby who passed at his home in the Upper Whorton Community about 9 o'clock Saturday night, October 10. He was 87 years and 10 months of age. Although, he had been in failing health for a year, his condition did not become serious until about two hours before death occurred. He died suddenly of a heart attack.
The deceased was born January 26, 1866 in Missouri, but moved to the Upper Whorton Community while still a child and spent his entire life there. He was the son of Jim and Melinda Arbaugh Frisby. In 1887 he was married to Nancy Jane Dotson and they had two sons. He had been a member of the Free Will Baptist Church for many years and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Kingston. In the early 1900's he served as Justice of the Peace of the Whorton Creek Township.
The survivors are his wife, two sons, Grover and George Frisby both of Rte. 5, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Revs. Cecil Garrison and Henry Steele conducted the funeral services which were held at 2 o'clock at the Lower Whorton Cemetery. Brashears Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Garner and Denton Bolinger, Alonzo Inman, Oscar Perkins, Bruce Dotson and Virgil Inman.
