Margaret Russell was born on May 13, 1800 in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Her parents were William Russell (a joiner) and Margaret Millar. She married Robert Anderson II (son of Robert Anderson I and Jean Gray of Carrickston) on November 17, 1821 in the Parish of Eastwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland. They had nine children named Jean, Robert III, William, Margaret (Mrs. James Anderson; 2nd cousins), John, James, James, James Russell, Jean Russell (Only Robert III, Margaret, and John lived to adulthood). Margaret died on March 19, 1838 at 15 Stockwell in Glasgow, Scotland. The cause of death was "Decline".
