James Bernard Peck Jr. died of complications from pleumorphic liposcarcoma on Sunday, February 2, 2003, at the age of 76 in Clearwater, Florida. At the age of 17, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in World World II. Formerly of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, Jim was a retired supervisor of 44 years with the Clark Candy Company in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Clearwater and Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Dunedin, Florida.

He was a devoted husband of Frances Margaret Boznick Peck; loving father of Sherry Frances Crowe of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania and Bonnie Sue Kelley of Palm Harbor, Florida; doting grandfather of Cassandra "Casey" Lyn Chapman, Todd Joseph Crowe, Jason Matthew Kelley and Sean Patrick Kelley; proud and oldest brother of Robert Peck, David Peck, Mildred Johnson and Ruth Stevens; role model and stepbrother of Ronald Peck and Dennis Peck.

His funeral mass was said by Father Thomas Madden, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Friends were received Friday at 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, Pennsylvania (www.bockltd.com) where a Blessing Service was held on Saturday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's name, were sent to the Woodside Hospice House, 6770 102nd Ave. North, Pinellas Park, Florida 33782.

Gravesite Details

Until Frances Margaret (Boznick) Peck died, Jim was buried in a mausoleum at Mount Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. His body was exhumed, and they were both buried at the same time, and Jim received with military honors.
