Sam Millard Hinson moved to Young County, Texas in 1900 from Brazoria County, soon after the Galveston flood. He settled in the Salem Bend Community and took up farming. He was a member of the Methodist Church, a faithful member and good Christian man.
Services were held at the Salem Bend Methodist Church.
Survived by his wife; 10 children - Mildred, Adele, Pauline, Lometta, Ona Fay, Leonard Lee, Bessie Lorene, Ralph Dale, S. M. and baby son, Frank Edward born 11 November 1936.; his parents; four brothers - Dillard, Claude, Curtis and Joel Hinson; two sisters - Bess Hinson and Mrs. Ressie Hatfield.
