Alice Agnes Norby married her first husband, Theodore William Wicken on 15 May 1929 in Clearwater County, Minnesota. Theodore Wicken passed away in August 1954. Alice Wicken married her second husband, Floyd Frank Smith on 28 December 1959 in Clearwater County, Minnesota. Her parents were Aslak Jenson Norby and Anna (Brandvold) Norby of Clearwater County, Minnesota.

Alice Smith 1907-1998

Alice Smith, 90, of rural Shevlin, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at the Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley.
She was born October 3, 1907, at Shevlin, the daughter of Aslak and Anna Norby. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Clearwater Lutheran Church in Shevlin. She graduated from Bagley High School and attended one year of teacher's training. Alice taught for a year at the Vern School in Itasca Township, north of Lake Itasca. She married Theodore Wicken in 1928. They farmed in Itasca Township. After her husband's death she continued farming until 1958. In 1959 Alice married Floyd Smith.
Alice was a member of the Sell Lake Free Lutheran Church and the Ladies W.M.F.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd; a son, Donald (Rachel) Wicken of Jackson, Michigan; four stepsons, Roger (Sandy) Smith of Shevlin, Steve (Sue) Smith of Shevlin, Curtis Smith of Warwick, R.I., and Wayne (Dorothy) Smith of Lengby; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and her son, Theodore Wicken Jr.
Alice will be remembered for her many acts of kindness and the love and concern that she had for everyone. Alice was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and a dear friend to many.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 28, at the Sell Lake Free Lutheran Church, rural Shevlin, with the Rev. William Goodman officiating. Interment was at the Bagley City Cemetery with arrangements by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley.
