Mr. Norby was born January 20, 1894 in Leonard, North Dakota, moving to rural Bagley in 1902 and had resided here since. He was a veteran of WWI, a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a charter member of Irvin Blix Post 16 of the American Legion.
He was married to Ruth Eisley November 1, 1919 in Bagley. Survivors include his wife Ruth of Bagley, four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Wilma) Smith of Lake City, Michigan; Mrs. Laurel Gregory of Afton, New York; Mrs. Dorothy Tollefson of Medford, Oregon; Mrs. Ervin (Ruth) Foldoe of Bagley; eight sons, Allen of Afton, New York; Harley of Ft. Harrison, Montana; Merlin of Washington, D. C. ; Kenneth of Coon Rapids; LeRoy of Minneapolis; Darryl, New Hope; Bruce, Louisiana; Winston, Two harbors; one brother, Avle Norby of Bagley; two sisters, Alice Smith of Shevlin and Anna Alfson of Lynnwood, Washington; 34 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
