Rosa Houston Bennett, 103, of Ripley, died Friday, August 23, 1996. She was the widow of John R. Bennett. Her parents were the late Tom and Laura Spencer Houston. She was a homemaker and a member of Ellendale Church of Christ, Bartlett, Tenn. Services were Sunday, August 25, 1996, at 4 p.m. at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery. Bro. Tom Childers and Bro. Wade Huddleston were the officiating ministers. McBride Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include three sons, Donald W. Bennett, Ripley, Melborune Bennett, Bartlett, Tenn. and Gordon R. Bennett, Millington, Tenn.; one sister, Nellie Wiggins, Ripley; one stepsister, Janette Norris, Ripley; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
