David Abraham Beck was born at and grew up at Beck's Mills, Holmes County, Ohio.

David was the fourth child and the third son of five children.

His father, Benjamin Beck, was a prosperous man with several businesses.

David married Anna Tabitha Lucas on December 9, 1891, in McLuney, Ohio.

They had four chidren: three boys and one girl.

They moved around a lot during their marriage.

David had several jobs to include: operating a stoneware company, operating a pottery shop, operating a general store, foreman for a furnace company, salesman for a biscuit company, and finally a travelling salesman for a pharmacuetical company.

David was also an avid reader and read many newspapers every day.

He was a very easy going person.

He always dressed in a dress shirt with a necktie.

David died from complications caused by a severe stroke.
