She graduated from Louisville Local High School in 1918 and then studied to become a teacher at Kent Normal School.
She taught one year at Soap Hill School and then married her husband, Irvin Ray Miller, on 24 November 1920.
They had four children: three boys and one girl.
Wilma suffered from asthma, so in 1937 they moved to California for her health.
There they bought land and became poultry farmers, raising chickens, both layers and fryers.
They retired from farming in 1961 and moved to Ventura in 1962 to be near their children.
Wilma died of congestive heart failure.
