Obituary;
Funeral services for Jerry Kruger, 69, were held Wednesday afternoon from the Zion church, with Rev. A.H. Meyer conducting the sermon. The remains were taken to the Oak Hill cemetery for burial. He died on Apr. 4, 1938 at the family home, down Elk way, due to heart complications following the flu. He was born Aug. 3, 1868 in Schole, Germany, and came with his parents to this vicinity at age 6 years. On Dec. 12, 1898 he was married to Eva Barker, and 8 children were born to this union, 2 who died in infancy. Surviving are his wife, 3 daughters, Mrs. Maynard Ham of Earlville, Mrs. Elmer Smock of McGregor and Mr. Earl Hook of Greeley; 3 sons, Sydney, John and Laurence all at home ; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers, Fred and Henry Kruger, both of Greeley; 3 sisters, Mrs. Milan Brady; Mrs. Leroy Ingles; both of Greeley and Mrs. M.R. Dodge of Luana.
