"BILOXI WOMAN PASSES AWAY"

"Mrs. Rosabelle Smyly, aged 76 years, a native Alabamian and resident of this city for over thirty years, died at her home on East Beach yesterday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock. Deceased was ill but a few weeks prior to her death. Mrs. Smyly was born in Sumpter county, Ala., seventy-six years ago and removed to Biloxi thirty years ago, making her home in this city ever since. Mrs. Smyly was one of the beloved residents of this city where she had a wide acquaintance. She is survived by her daughter, Miss Jessie and a son, Lewis Smyly, who is a resident of Louisiana, besides a number of other friends and relatives. Mrs. Smyly was a devout member of the Episcopal church. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence of the deceased, 551 East Beach street. Services were conducted by Rev. Byron Holley, of the Church of the Redeemer, and interment was made in the Biloxi cemetery."
