Obituary from "St. Louis Post Dispatch," dated Sunday, November 12, 1922, page 95:

"SON OF COMMERCIAL LEAD OF EARLY ST. LOUIS, DIES IN NEW ORLEANS

Funeral services for Frank Von Phul, 88 years old, who died November 9, 1922, at New Orleans where he had lived since the 50's , were held yesterday in a chapel at 4222 Olive street.

Von Phul was a son of Henry Von Phul, a leading figure in early commercial St. Louis and was a member of the staff of General Frost of St. Louis during the Civil War.

A brother, Phillip Von Phul and a sister, Mrs. William Cook, and a number of other relatives live here. He was a bachelor."
