Margaret Lavada Spivey was born in Newton county, Mississippi, on December 5, 1879. In her girlhood she moved with her parents to Eddy, Texas, and at that place she was united in marriage to Mr. M.O. Spivey on August 13, 1900. To this union were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy. The following children together with her husband, Mr. M.O. Spivey, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Allen, survive to mourn her loss, Roy, Eva, Hazel, Ruth and Richard Spivey. The following brothers and sisters of the deceased also live to mourn her passing away, Mr. J.B. Allen, Temple, Texas; Mr. W.I. Allen, Eddy, Texas; Dr. E.P. Allen, Mrs. W.O. McGill, Alvis and Thomas Allen of Oklahoma City. Mrs. Spivey united with the Grace Methodist church of this city and was one of its consistent and devoted members. She passed away in St. Anthony's hospital, Oklahoma City, on Nov. 28, at the age of forty-two years, eleven months and twenty-three days. (THE OKLAHOMAN)
