He was one of OKC's first obstetricians to concentrate on hospital births with no home deliveries. "I started talking hopitals to mothers when I came back from the war in 1920." He said in 1947 at the time of his retirement. " I never refused to take cases at home," he said "I just outtalked the mothers."
Dr Allen was one of the first to start pre-natal charity work at the Variety Club Halth Center.
Survived by his wife Myrtle, three sons Edward P Jr, Robert & Paul. Four brothers Isaac, Eddy, Alvis & Thomas. And one sister Mrs W. F. McGill.
