Judge D.A,Allen who was returning to his office met a terrible accident in which he lost his life.While turning a corner at 3d. and main St.the horse became frightened and started rapidly down the street. When the judge made an attempt to get out the buggy as it careened to the left and he was thrown with great force to the ground striking the back of his head.The judge was immediately picked up and carried into the establishment of Bradley and Bowers. A physician was called who found that the back of the head was crushed and that death was ensued almost immediately, Was elected Probate Judge in 1881 and 1884. The deceased leaves a wife and five children by a former wife.
