Hulda Amelia Nelson, a daughter of Nels and Anna Anderson, was born in Fillmore County, Nebraska July 10, 1898. She departed this life at Mary Lanning Hospital at 11:35 Saturday morning, October 3, 1938, at the age of 38 years, 2 months and 23 days.

She was united in marriage December 1, 1926, to Adolph L. Nelson. To this union two children were born, Donald, six years old, and the infant daughter, Dorothy Jean.

As a child, she received her Christian training in the Swedish Methodist Church in Ong, and was a faithful Sunday school member. She was confirmed in Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Ong in 1925 and has been a faithful member of her church.

In departing this life she leaves her husband, two children, her father, one brother, one sister, other relatives and a host of friends.

Many friends had gathered Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the home for the services. Mrs. Carl Erikson and Oscar Rudd sang at the home and church. "Rock of Ages" was sung at the home. The scripture, 1 Cor. 15:12-26, 35-38, was read and prayer was offered. The funeral services were in charge of Rev. Glenn L. Stenholm.

The services were held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Appropriate songs were sung at the services. Three hymns were sung at the church, "Does Jesus Care" was the opening; "I Will Sing You a Song of the Beautiful Land" before the message and the closing, "Face to Face with Christ, My Savior" were rendered beautifully. Rev. 21:1-8 was read by the altar, after which prayer was offered. The message for the occasion was based on Matthew 11:28, with the theme "Come Unto Me" and was followed by the obituary. Mrs. Carl Erikson played the piano during the processional and viewing of the body. Miss Lorene Swanson accompanied the duet in their renditions.

The interment took place in the Ong Cemetery.
