Another Pioneer In Arkansas City Since 1884, Dies.

Mrs. Nannie Shield Isham, 76, wife of O.H. Isham, who has been a resident of Arkansas City for 44 years, died late Saturday at the family home, 1025 West Kansas Avenue. She had been in poor health for some time and last Saturday suffered a second paralytic stroke. On Monday of last week Mrs. Isham became partially paralyzed and after that date was in a serious condition.

Mr. and Mrs. Isham came to Arkansas City in November 1884, and have since resided here. Mrs. Isham was a member of the First M.E. church, the Women's Relief Corps, the Daughters of Veterans and the local Rebekah lodge, and in each of these organizations had been prominent for many years. She was a native of Elgin county, Ill. The husband, three daughters, one son and one brother survive. The children, all of whom are here now, are, Mrs. W.L. Tibbetts and Mrs. Thomas F. Brandon, Arkansas City; Mrs. George Elledge, Oklahoma City and J.W. Isham, Trinidad, Colo. The surviving brother, is John Art of West Terre Haute, Ind.

Funeral services are to be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the First M.E. church. Dr. G.H. Cosper will officiate. Members of the Willing Workers class of that church are requested to meet at 2 o'clock that afternoon in the class room at the church and attend the services in a body. Burial will be made in Riverview cemetery. The Grant Funeral Home is in charge.
