Ronald G. Alford, of Bend, died Saturday. He was 74.
A celebration of life Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene. Interment will be held at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
Mr. Alford was born Aug. 18, 1932, in Eugene to Emery and Grace (Vaughn) Alford. He graduated from Eugene High School in 1950 and the University of Oregon in 1957. He married Barbara Wick on Nov. 1, 1952, in Eugene.
Mr. Alford served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He worked as a mortgage loan officer and real estate appraiser in Eugene and Salem for many years. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene and the Franciscan Renewal Center in Phoenix. He enjoyed golf and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffrey, of Bend, and John, of La Pine; two daughters, Rhonda Trim, of La Pine, and Janielle Stringfellow, of Creswell; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Apache Indian School in San Carlos, Ariz.; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
