Harriet McCloughan was born in Dunbar, Nebraska, January 8, 1886 and died at her home in Ong, Nebraska, December 30, 1928. When a small girl she accompanied her parents to Ong, where she spent all her life. On March 3, 1912, she was united in marriage to Clarence McCloughan. To this union were born two children, one son and one daughter. In 1911, she joined the M E Church of Ong. She was always interested in the church work and remained a faithful member until her death. Mrs McCloughan spent the closing years of her life as an invalid. She bravely bore the burden of the hardships and took advantage of it being able to see the silver lining of every cloud. Her cheerful disputation brought cheer to her family and to those of her associates. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband and two children Inez and Ray, also her parents, Mr and Mrs N A Nelson and two sisters, Mrs Jo Anderson and Miss Mary Nelson. The funeral was held from the home Tuesday at one o'clock, conducted by Rev H H Provett. Interment was made in the Ong Cemetery.
