Services were held at the Baptist Church for Mrs. Jennie Price Rainey, mother of Dr. Homer Price Rainey, president of the University of Texas. Mrs. Rainey died at her home in Eliasville where she had lived since 1898 moving here from Clarksville. Mrs. Rainey became a member of the Baptist Church in 1898.
Edward Rainey married Miss Louisa Jane Price on 23 January 1895 at Red River County, Texas.
Survived by her husband; two sons - Dr. Homer Price Rainey and Guy C. Rainey; two daughters - Mrs. Adelle Cook and Mrs. Mary Louise Ghent; three sisters - Mr. Lena Filgo, Mrs. Addie Pratt, Mrs. Maggie Ardis; two brothers - Jim and Ed Price.
Pallbearers were three deacons of the Presbyterian Church and three deacons of the Baptist Church in Eliasville.
