Nicholas and Josephine farmed near Fond du Lac, just north of the home of his parents. Daughters, Rosie and Marie died as children of black diptheria.
Most of their descendants of Nicholas & Josephine remained in Wisconsin however, the Goebel family settling in Wichita, Kansas and many of their descendants were born in that state.
The original name "Fuchs" was later changed to "Fox."
