Mavis Cooper, 82 of Spencer, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 17, 2010. She was born September 2, 1927 to Thomas E. and Ella (McDaniel) Neill. She retired from IU in 1998 where she had been a telephone operator. Mavis was a member of the Spencer VFW Auxiliary.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by five children, Robert Cooper, Ronald Cooper, Carolyn Carmichael (and husband, Dallas Scamihorn), Linda Cooper and Victoria Jackson all of Poland, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Max Cooper in 1984, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Father Bill Ehalt will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
