The Pine Springs Cemetery was originally in the town of "OSO" (Spanish for "Bear") It was 3 miles North East of Flatonia. Oso was established prior to the RR (Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway)arrival which bypassed Oso and established business in Flatonia. Most of the residents of Oso gradually moved to Flatonia, establishing business there.
Oso once had 3 stores & a Post Office (1858 to 1874).
Pine Springs Cemetery is located N of I-10 and off of FM 906 on Pine Springs Road. A row of cedars lines the path and two small stone bridges were built over wet weather streams
