Harold Henry William Hobelmann, son of John and Anna Koch Hobelmann, was born October 25, 1908, on a farm near DeWitt, Nebraska, and died October 20, 1997, at Parkview Haven, Deshler, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 26 days.

He attended elementary school in a country school near DeWitt, Nebraska, and a Lutheran Day School near Plymouth, Nebraska. He graduated from the 8th grade at Ash Grove School.

He farmed all his life, living most of those years on the family farm southeast of Byron in Republic County, Kansas.

He was united in marriage to Frieda Bostelmann on November 18, 1928, at Byron, Nebraska, and to this union five children were born.

He served on the church council, Ash Grove School Board, Board of the Blue Valley Home, and was a musician, playing the piano, guitar and organ in churches and residents of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frieda, a son, Dwayne, a daughter, Lois, a grandson, and a brother Albert.

He is survived by three sons, Delmar of Byron, Nebraska, Dean of Republic, Kansas, and Wayne of Kansas City, Kansas, a step-sister, Esther Marquart of Lincoln, Nebraska, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., on Friday, October 24, 1997, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Deshler, Nebraska, with Rev. Joseph Schultz officiating.

Burial will be made in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Byron, Nebraska.
