Lawrence Humphrey, age 77, of Hollis died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in Hollis with his wife Nina Humphrey. He was born in Hollis, AR on September 29, 1929 to Walter Charles and Mayme Blythe Humphrey. He was an Army Veteran, a retired electrician with St. Joseph Hospital, and a member and Deacon of Grace Apostolic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Dwight Humphrey; a sister Dovie Smith; and a grandson Jerry Don "Donnie" Humphrey, Jr.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Don Humphrey, of Hollis; daughter and son-in-law, Iraan "Susie" and Aubrey Ballew, of Hollis; brothers and sisters-in-law, A. W. and Gerlene Humphrey, of Hollis, Charles and Ethel Mae Humphrey of Pina, AZ; grandson Richard Cameron Humphrey of Michigan.
Funeral services were Monday at 2 p. m. at Grace Apostolic Church in Hot Springs. Burial was at the Nooner Cemetery with military Honors by Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 with Pastor Richard Burgett officiating. Memorials may be sent to the Church Building Fund at Grace Apostolic Church, PO Box 3256, Hot Springs, AR 71914. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.
