William Lee was the son of William Augustus and Sarah Elizabeth "Thompson" Womack. He was a farmer in the Slate Shoals community. He began experiencing chills and died of malaria.

Obituary of William Lee Womack:
W. L. Womack, a well known farmer of the Slate Shoals community died at 3 o'clock Thursday morning Sept. 30, 1915, at the home of his brother-in-law, Dr. A. T. B. Beauchamp, in Blossom, after a brief illness. He had been having a few chills and while he was in Paris last Saturday he complained of having been troubled with malaria. On Monday evening he went to the home of Dr. Beauchamp to have him prescribe for him, and while he was there he was taken suddenly sick and grew worse until death ensued. The deceased was fifty-three years old and was born in Mississippi. He came to Texas in 1878 with his father, W. A. Womack and located in this county where he continued to reside up to the time of his death and was engaged in farming. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at Blossom.
