SYLVESTER WILLIS IS DEAD AT 77; RITES AT ALBANY
Funeral services for Sylvester Willis, 77, of Desoto, retired farmer and school teacher who died Wednesday in a Richmond hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Rust Funeral Home at Albany. Rev. Phillip Williams will officiate, followed by burial in Union cemetery at DeSoto.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight as well as before the services.
Mr. Willis taught in Randolph county schools in the early part of his life before taking up farming.
Surviving are his wife, Lauretta; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene Newbold of near Albany and Mrs. Ida Pittenger of DeSoto; two sons, Harry of Chillicothe, O., and Ray of Albany; one sister, Mrs. Julia Rust of Winchester; one brother, John Willis of Winchester; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
