"Arthur Biddle, a prominent member of the Philadelphia bar, died on Monday evening last at the Garden Hotel, Atlantic City, from a severe attack of the grip, from which he suffered for about a month. Mr. Biddle was 44 years old. He was born in the Seventh ward of this city, attended the private schools, and afterwards went to Yale College, from which he graduated in 1873. After studying law at the office of his father, he became a member of the firm of Biddle & Ward, of which his father was the senior member. He has written extensively int he various law magazines of the country, and in 1882 in conjunction with his brother, the late George Biddle, published a treatise on the law of stock brokers. This was followed in 1884 by a treatise on the law of warranties in the sale of chattels, and in 1893 by two large volumes upon the "Law of Insurance". Mr. Biddle was a member of the American Philosophical Society, and of other learned societies and of numerous societal organizations. In 1893 he received from Yale College an honorary degree for his treatise "Law of Warranties". He resided at 821 De Lancey place with his wife and three children, who survive him".∼Nam
