E. Pauline Bahney, July 18, 1913-Oct. 24, 2006, E. Pauline Bahney, 93, formerly of the Gilead community, died at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday at her residence, Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. Born in Miami County, she was the daughter of Henry William and Sarah Butt Keim. On Nov. 24, 1933, in Perry Township of Miami County, she married Gerald W. Bahney. He died July 18, 1992. A homemaker, she was affiliated with Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Miami County and Roann Christian Church. She was a charter member of the Perry-Do-Rites Home Economics Club. Survivors include one daughter, Roma and husband Arnold VanLue, rural Miami County; one son, William R. Bahney and wife Donna, Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Roland VanLue and wife Sara, Kokomo, Lila and husband Steve Hammer, North Manchester, and Ben Bahney, Washington, D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Jared VanLue and wife Jessica, Vasser, Mich., and Amber Simmons, Raleigh, N.C.; four step-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Smith, North Manchester. She was Aunt Pauline to 19 nieces and nephews, great-aunt to 42 and great-great-aunt to 60 nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Garnet Stevenson and Gayle Hattery, and one brother, Walter Keim. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with the Rev. George Hapner officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery, Akron. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A special thank you to all the angels in the Evergreen healthcare area of Peabody Retirement Community for their loving touch during the final months of her life. Memorials can be made to the donor's charity of choice.
