German nobleman, also referred to as Louis Ferdinand II or Louis Ferdinand Jr. The fifth of seven children of former German Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia and Grand Duchess Kira of Russia and great-grandson of Kaiser Wilhelm II and Kaiserin Augusta Viktoria. After the collapse of the German monarchy, noblemen and women still had their title, but had to work for their lives. In parallel to an apprenticeship as a banker, in 1967 Louis Ferdinand II decided to volunteer in the ‘Bundeswehr', the West German Army. Regular military exercises were made. In May 1975 Louis Ferdinand II married the Countess Donata Emma of Castell-Rüdenhausen. Their first child, Prince Georg Friedrich Ferdinand of Prusssia was born in 1976. During one of the reserve exercises, Louis Ferdinand II suffered from severe injuries when getting stuck between two vehicles. While his leg was amputated, he passed away weeks later from complications of his injuries. His daughter Cornelie-Cécile Viktoria Louise of Prussia was born in early 1978.
