Miss Bertha Lee Alexander, 81, of Paxton, a retired school teacher, died Sunday at Paxton Community Hospital. She had been ill a short time.Miss Alexander was the sister of the late Dr. Charles T. Alexander, Champaign dintist for nearly half a century before his death in 1959.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Tuesday at Ford Baier Funeral Home, Paxton with the Rev. Vern F. Barr officiation. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm. and 7 to 9 pm. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the heart fund.
Miss alexander was born June 8, 1883 in Elliott, the daughter of Clarence and Margaretta Myers Alexander. She grew up in Elloitt and attended Greer College, Hoopeston, and Illinis State University, Normal.
She had taught in rural schools in the Elliott area and in Piper City.
She came to Paxton in 1908 from Elliott. She was never married.
Mis Alexander was a member of the Westminister Bible Church of Paxton.
She leaves one sister, Mrs Grace Cox, Champaign; one brother, Earl M., Piper City; one niece, Mrs. Robert Iber, East Peoria, and five nephews, Howard L. Alexander, Kalamazoe, Mich; John M. Alexander and Spencer Lee Alexander, both of Kankakee; Clarence Alexander, Mount Prospect, and Clarence L. Cox, Fisher.
