Roy Davis, 83, of Centerville died April 17, 2005 at the Seymour Care Center in Seymour, Iowa.
Roy was born April 6, 1922 in Dean, Iowa to Lee and Katie(Archer)Davis. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville for several years, a member of AMVETS & the D.A.V., and a veteran of the United States Army. Roy worked at Baxter Box Company in Centerville, Camp Awhile Trailers and McGraw-Edison. After becoming disabled Roy enjoyed looking for bargained treasures and setting up in flea markerts. He also enjoyed being outside working with flowers, spending time with his grandchildren, being a Christian and attending church.
Roy was married to Esther Marshall, to this union a daughter Linda was born. He later married Marilyn E. Exline on January 6, 1951 in Unionville, Mo., to this union a daughter Sandra was born.
Roy is survived by his wife Marilyn of Centerville, two daughters; Sandy Thomas of Moravia, Linda Rundall of Cedar Falls, two step daughters; Linda Hadley of Cedar Rapids, Dianne Herr of Centerville, 6 grandchildren; Justin S. Thomas and his wife April, Amanda L. Thomas and friend Danny Irving of Centerville, Tanner and Todd Rundall, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Kelly Bohning and her husband Michael of Olathe, Kansas, Jason Hadley and wife Amy of Scottsdale, Az, 9 great grandchildren; Brandon and Benjamin Hadley of Olathe, Kansas, Keegan and Dylan Hadley of Scottsdale, Az. Emily Elaine Irving of Centerville, Corwin Schramm, Michael Thomas, Brenda Thomas and soon to be grandaughter, two sisters; Virgie Campbell and Dorothy Kirby both of Moulton. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Katie Davis, two brothers; Donald & Virgil Davis, two sisters; Mildren Davis, an infant sister Shirley Davis, step-sister, Betty Myers and an infant grandson Todd Thomas.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Wednesday morning, April 20, 2005 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Kristopher Wattlet officiating. Friends may call Tuesday with the family present from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Ararat Cemetery.
