George Ziegler Claimed By Death

Widely Known Resident Of Arkansas City District For 50 years Succumbs Here.

George E. Ziegler, widely known resident of this locality for over 50 years, died at 7:15 Thursday night at the home of his son, Walter Ziegler, at 220 North Second street. He had been ill only since Monday, having been out and around daily prior to that time. He was 83 years old.

Mr. Ziegler was a retired farmer, having taken a claim near Ponca City at the time of the Strip opening, Sept. 16, 1893. He moved to Arkansas City several years ago. Mrs. Ziegler died here in April 1929.

Surviving relatives are two sons, Walter Ziegler, Arkansas City, and Stanley Ziegler, Maysville, Ark.; four daughters, Mrs. C.A. Creveling, Mrs. Lloyd Conrad and Mrs. Leona Anderson, all of this city and Mrs. George Brown, Ponca City; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the Oldroyd chapel. The Rev. Otto F. Volkland will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview cemetery.
