Graveside Rites Held Here For J.H. Breland

Graveside rites for Jack H. Breland, 65, of Amarillo, who died Monday in Southwest Osteopathic Hospital in Amarillo, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel with Jack Mackey, minister of the Lawndale Church of Christ and Paul Sneed, minister of the Central Church of Christ, officiating.

A former Memphis resident, Mr. Breland was born in Anson. He was a retired builder and grocer.

He was married to Willie Garrett in 1925 in Memphis, In 1927, the couple moved to Amarillo where he was employed with Furr Foods until 1950 when he went into the building business.

He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of Amarillo, a brother Cole of Anson; and four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Gustatson and Mrs. Delores Cawsert, both of Anson, Mrs. C.C. Taylor of Stamford and Mrs. Erno Karger of Brady.

Among those attending the funeral service from the area were Mr. and Mrs. Gip McMurry and Myrtle Howard of Memphis, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Adcock of Wichita Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lakey of Iowa Park.
