Joseph W. McKim of 505 Madison Ave., died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gladys Seffens, Caldwell, at 6 a.m. Saturday after a long illness.
Born Dec. 3, 1873 at Kimbolton, he was a son of Martin and Hannah Carnes McKim. He spent his entire life in Guernsey County and retired from the grocery business several years ago.
He was united in marriage on Jan. 1, 1901, to Laura E. Whitlach, who preceded him in death June 28, 1942.
Surviving are four children Mrs. Gladys Seffens of Caldwell, Mrs. Opal Waddell of Akron, Mrs. Viola Smith of Cambridge, and Lemoine McKim of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Boyd and Mrs. Rachel Olmstead, both of Cambridge. Seven brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
The body will be taken from the Scott Funeral Home to the Seffens home at 22 Cumberland St., Caldwell, Saturday evening. It will be returned to the funeral home Monday morning where friends may call until the hour of services Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Floyd Gaugler of Caldwell will officiate and burial will be made in Northwood Cemetery.
