Aaron T. Fowlkes, 87, of Vilonia passed away Monday, June 7, 2004.

He was born Aug. 27, 1916, in Red Hill, Ark. (White County), to the late James Rafe and Hettie (Patty) Fowlkes. He was also preceded in death by sisters Ina Davis, Lillian Davis and Loy Burns; brothers Doyne Fowlkes and Henry Fowlkes; and infant brothers Roy and Coy Fowlkes.

Mr. Fowlkes was a bulldozer operator, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Center Point Free Will Baptist Church in Vilonia.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene (Furgerson) Fowlkes; six children, Gerald Fowlkes and wife, Oneita, Tommy Fowlkes and wife, Brenda, Freddie Fowlkes and wife, Beverly, Ronnie Fowlkes and wife, Linda, Johnny Fowlkes and wife, Jackie, and Karon Williams and husband, Jerry, all of Vilonia; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Center Point Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Sidney Sawrie, Bro. Joe Engdahl and Bro. Greig Caswell officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery in Vilonia.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Pallbearers are Tony Fowlkes, Wade Williams, Daron Williams, Brandon Fowlkes, Jeffrey Fowlkes, Blake Fowlkes, Jared Fowlkes and Tom Hambuchen.
