Elizabeth Catherine Stover married Andrew Jackson King in 1859, son of John King from Kings Mountain, North Carolina. They were the first settlers in the Little Elm Community in Denton County. He preceded her in death in 1879.

Mrs. Elizabeth Catherine King married David Crockett Reed in 1876 at Little Elm, Texas. The couple moved to Palo Pinto County in 1895 and settled north of Graford.

David "Jack" Reed was from Kentucky and had served in the Civil War. He had been a gun runner for Albert Sidney Johnston, who was his cousin. David and his brother Sam left Kentucky and came to Little Elm where he married Elizabeth. The couple bought land from J.W. McConnell and built their house under a large elm tree just south of a small hill, later known as Reed Hill. The land was sold to Thomas Eubanks following their death. Eliza and Jack Reed raised four Reed children and two King children. The children are: Lee, Mart, Harve and Fannie Reed; Kit and Margaret King.

Harve, the youngest, came to Palo Pinto with his father and mother. He later married Minnie McConnell.

"Mrs. Eliza Reed, wife of David Reed, died at her home near Graford on 12 January 1918. She was 78 years old."
