Charles Edward Oglestone married Bessie M. Koontz

OGLESTONE-KOONTZ
At the fine home of Mr. and Mrs. George Koontz on their farm in Gladwin township Tuesday evening, July 19, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Bessie M., to Charles E. Oglestone, of this city. The affair was most beautiful and characterized by sweet simplicity. At nine o'clock Miss Stella Leonard, who presided at the piano, began playing the "Bridal Processional" and the bridal party marched to the north parlor, where the marriage was solemnized by Rev. O. F. Bulman. The bride, clad in a rich gown of castor silk and carrying a boquet of white carnations, was accompanied by her sister, Miss Audrey, who was also gowned in white. The groom was accompanied by Bert Elthorp. At the conclusion of the ceremony the party were led by Miss Mae Shell into the dining room where the wedding repast was served, and which she had most artistically decorated with beautiful festoons of pink ribbon and sempervirens vines and flowers. The table spread was also richly' decorated with vines and blossoms, all in pink and green. There were present as guests: Mr. and Mrs. George Koontz, Mr. and Mrs. Gil Koontz, Mr. and Mrs. Syrus Koontz, Mr. and Mrs. Youngs, Mrs Arnot, Miss Audrey Koontz, Messrs. Bert Elthorp, Frank Koons, Clarence Howell and Samuel Stockton from that locality; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schultz, Messrs. Phil Matthews Jr., J. Myers, and the Misses Mae Shell, Estella Leonard and Ruth Bulman, from the city. Mr. and Mrs. Oglestone left on the morning train for a wedding tour to Detroit, and points in Canada and Niagara Falls. After returning home they will occupy the old residence of F. O. Smith. To them is extended the best wishes of hosts of friends. Gladwin County Record 7/22/1904
