RITES FRIDAY FOR CHARLES OGLESTONE
Charles E. Oglestone, 89, of Gladwin, died Tuesday at the Gladwin Nursing Home after a long illness. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. John Cermak will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Mausoleum, Saginaw.
Mr. Oglestone operated a hardware store in Gladwin for 18 years, from about 1921 to 1939. He was also a director of The FirstState Savings Bank until he resigned a few years ago.
He was born in Kinmount, Ont., on Sept. 9, 1877, and had lived in Gladwin County since 1900. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Oglestone and the former Bessie Koontz were married on July 19, 1904, in Gladwin. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Dr. G. Wayne Oglestone, of Saginaw; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
