BESSIE OGLESTONE
Mrs. Bessie M. Oglestone, 96, of Gladwin, died Friday, March 16, in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a long illness. Born in Gladwin Township on February 23, 1883, she had spent her lifetime here. Mrs. Oglestone helped her husband operate the Gladwin Hardware from 1918 to 1937 and was also a former rural school teacher. She was a life member of the White Clover Chapter OES No. 84 and a pastmatron.
The former Bessie Koontz, she was married to Charles E. Koontz, she was married to Charles E. Oglestone on July 29, 1904. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1967. Surviving are one son, Dr. G. Wayne of Saginaw; two granddaughters; and one great granddaughter.
Services were held Monday at 11 a.m.from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Donald Bates officiatedand entombment was in Saginaw Oakwood Mausoleum.
