Rosetta Isabelle "Rosa" (Beerbower) was born in March 1878 in Prairie City, Schuyler County, Missouri, daughter of Samuel R. Beerbower and Elsie J. (Ballenger). She had 6 known brothers:

Hiram Gorley Beerbower 1873-1964
Ethelbert F. "Sib" Beerbower 1875-
William Rube Beerbower 1879-
James Elbert Beerbower 1883-
Lenny A. Beerbower 1886-
Samuel E. Beerbower 1888-

At the age of 16, on Oct. 22, 1894, Rosa married George Wesley Baldwin, son of William Baldwin and Sabina (Hartz), in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri. To this union, 5 daughters were born:

Sarah Anna "Sadie" Baldwin 1896-1963
Opal Florence Baldwin 1898-
Edith P. Baldwin 1901-
Bernice Florence Baldwin 1905-
Ruby E. Baldwin 1907-

By 1910, Rosetta and George Baldwin were separated and Rosetta had returned to live with her widowed father in Schuyler County, Missouri. Four of her grown brothers were still in the home at this time, Rube 30, Elbert 27, Lenny 24, and Sam 21. Rosa's mother had died in 1900.

Only three of Rosa's daughters were with her in the 1910 census, Sarah 13, Bernice 5, and Ruby 4. Daughter Opal was in the home of her Uncle Eathelbert "Sib" Beerbower and his wife Ellie. Daughter Edith was with her Uncle Hiram Gorley Beerbower and his wife Alsyra.

On February 13, 1915 in Schuyler County, Missouri, Rosetta married David Benjamin Ballanger, a widower. He had no known children by his first wife, and he and Rosa had no known children together.

Please note that David and his family spelled their name Ballanger, but on Rosetta's tombstone, the name is spelled Ballenger.

In the 1920 census, Rosa's daughtes Bernice and Ruby were living with the Ballangers. Daughter Edith was still with Rosa's brother Hiram Beerbower and his wife, and daughters Sarah and Opal were married at this time.

Rosa died in 1947 at the age of 47 and was buried at Myers Cemetery. David Ballanger died in 1957 and was buried beside his first wife, Hortence (Ikerd) Ballanger, at Queen City Cemetery.

- Written by Blytha (Dennis) Ellis, 4rd cousin to Rosa's first husband, George Wesley Baldwin.
