Williston- Mrs. Katherine Sophronia Derouchie, 66, of Oak Hill Trailer Park, died in the Sloan-Ketterign Hospital in New York City Thursday after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 4, 1909, in Hinesburg, the daughter of Emery and Ida (Laforce) Abare.

She was the widow of Alexander Derouchie.

She leaves two daughters; Mrs. Shirley Snyder of Summersville, Conn., and Mrs. Geraldine Baker of Burlington; fours sons, Lyle of Colchester, Robert of Jackson, Mich., Ralph of Sterling, Mass., and Gordon of Williston. 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur Abare of Burlington and Carl Abare of Williston; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Goulette of Burlington and Ethel Barrows of Ferrisburg, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home tonight from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
